Paperartsy Challenge - Hearts

Hello,

Thanks for dropping in to see my blog today.

The current challenge theme over at Paperartsy is 'hearts' you can find out all the info about the challenge HERE

So I'm continuing my plan of creating a loose journal page for each challenge to bind at the end of the year, so here is my hearts page:

It was created on 10 x 7 canvas textured acrylic paper.

The background was made using Fresco paints in Caribbean Sea, Bougainvillea and Tangerine Twist then I brayered over it with Snowflake.

Added a bit of stencilling with Elephant And Snowflake and then a bit of grunge paste here and there.

I drew the heart on some old book paper and also stamped the quotes from Sara Naumann plate ESN11 on the plain part of the same book page.

The heart was emphasised using a black Stabilo All pencil and I also added some mini Tim staples to the heart and the quotes.

A bit of washi and some Little Black Dress drips and smudgey border and I think it's complete.

Circle Journal

Hi Everyone,

Our little Paperartsy themed circle journal group that was formed last year is almost drawing to a close.....only one more journal to go until we all receive our own journals back to see what everyone else has created! Really looking forward to that part!!

So I think I've got a little lost sharing the pages I've created in others journals on my blog so I'm going to try to catch them up in this post now.

So looking back I have definitely got very behind on sharing these pages lol!

Ok so here it goes - the third journal I received was Catherine's and here is the spread I did:

Next in the circle was Julie's journal:

Then back in December I did a page in Chris's journal - the instigator of the whole group!

And finally for this post, my most recent pages were created in Linda's junk/recycled journal:

I did warn you I'd gotten a bit behind!

Only one more journal to create in and then our circle is complete :-)

Thanks for looking,

Paperartsy 2016 Topic 1

Hello everyone and thank you for visiting today.

I'm sharing my first Paperartsy challenge entry for 2016 - the first topic of 2016 is 'Transparent Art' but for more information please click HERE

I have decided this year that I am going to try to create a journal page for every topic and then bind them all together at the end of the year - Darcy did this for 2015, if you'd like to see her journal click HERE. Well that's my plan anyway - we'll see if I can keep up!

So here is my page:

The background is water, fresco paint (pea coat, French roast) and some Prima oil pastels.

I added Prima 3D gloss gel through a TCW stencil for some transparent texture.

The tree is on a piece of acetate stamped with black stazon - it's a France Papillion stamp for Stampotique.

I added the acetate with glossy accents then covered it up with some brads covered with Little Black Dress Fresco paint.

The word 'dream' is a little wooden diecut - I used some Lindy's Stamp Gang Midnight Sapphire embossing powder on it before adding it to the page.

Finally I added some black splatters with the left over LBD paint from the brads which I think tie it all together.
