Scribbled Hearts

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to my blog today! So the current Paperartsy challenge is scribbles/doodling - you can check out all the info HERE.

I made a journal page today for this challenge....

Started by adding washi tape to my page then a light layer of white gesso.

Then I scraped on three Fresco colours - Bora Bora, Coral and Zesty Zing.

Next I added stamping and stencilling in black archival ink. The stencil was a TCW one and the stamps were the second everything art set by Paperartsy.

It was all looking a bit bright so I gave it a couple of coats of watery Snowflake to calm it down a bit.

Then added the border using a Paperartsy stencil by Darcy which has a wavy edge.

I used some old teabags, gave them a slight wash with white and then added my doodling. Then layered them up with some hearts chipboard and black ribbon scraps.

Then added some more doodling to the page using black and white pen...

Finally I added the white dots around the edges of the page and some stencilling in white with the Paperartsy numbers stencil.

Thanks for looking today and don't forget to stop by the Paperartsy blog and check out the lovely DT pieces.

On the lookout....

Hello,

Today I've been working in my journal and I wanted to share my pages with you.

So the journal I've been using today is my smaller Dylusions journal and I had a bit of trouble getting started with this page and it sat staring at my blankly for quite a while. So a few days ago I had watched a YouTube video by Marta Lapkowska (here) where she was demonstrating a whole load of ways to get started and get over the blank page fear lol!

So I used one of her techniques which she uses in the video which is sticking a load of washi tape strips to the page then adding a layer of white gesso.

So that was how I got started today, then I added some grunge paste through the Paperartsy numbers stencil - oops I didn't take any in progress pics today!

Once dry I started spraying with Lindy's stamp gang sprays before adding some background stamping with some Sara Naumann (ESN11) stamps.

Then I stamped all the flower heads from Darcy stamp set (EDY11) and Kim's stamp set (EKD01) onto the gelli prints I made last weekend.

I stamped the flowers onto my journal pages then cut out and added all the heads. Then into all the flower head circles I added some Posca paint pen.

I inked around the edges of the pages in black ink and highlighted the grunge paste using white fire treasure gold.

Coloured the flower stems in with a green Sakura glaze pen and then added the sentiment which is a Tim Holtz sticker.

I added some shading and white one highlights to the flowers and the sentiment as well.

So the current challenge over on the Paperartsy blog is Mono Printing so I am entering my page into this challenge.

Thanks for looking today!!

Gelli Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

The current challenge on the Paperartsy blog this fortnight is Mono Printing....I have two Gelli plates that get rare use, but my smaller circle one does get more use than the larger square one. But when I do use them I really enjoy it and the effect that it creates is always fun.

So here is a bunch of prints I made at the weekend:

I used one of them to create this card along with the stamps from the two Paperartsy/Everything Art stamp plates:

I stamped the main image, tore it round the edges and then mounted onto black card.

The edge is from the same gelli print, torn and stamped with black archival.

I added some bits and pieces of washi tape, staples and the TH sticker before mounting into black card and then a white card blank.

Pretty happy with how it turned out and I have a bunch more gelli prints to make more cards, journal pages or whatever I like with :-)

Workshop Day!

Hi Everyone,

Spent a lovely day over in Stockton being taught a workshop by the wonderful Birgit Koopsen.

I made a mini book, although we had the choice between this and a set of cards and matching decorated envelopes.

Mine isn't finished as I have four more pages still to decorate and add to the book but here is what I got finished today:

Pictures aren't great as its getting a bit dark here now but never mind!

Looking forward to going back again tomorrow where we are doing a gelli plate and image transfer class :-)

Thanks for looking!
