Paperartsy Challenge Sunday

Hi Everyone,

Sunday is the day I typically do all my crafty playing and this Sunday is no different!  I have created a journal page in my small Dylusions journal to join in with the current Paperartsy blog challenge, which is Pink and Orange.  Click  HERE for all the challenge info.

So here are my finished pages:

I started out creating a background using Candy Floss and Haystack before adding Prawn, Tango and Smoked Paprika:
It was a bit too bright! So I toned it down a little using watered down Chalk:
Next I added some stencilling using one of Lin Brown's new stencils (PS044) and also some background stamping using archival ink in orange blossom and potting soil:
I toned down the stark stencilling using Pumpkin Soup and then added the main stamping using black archival:
I added the quote and some shading around the quote and also around the edges of the page.  All stamps used were from plates ELB30, ELB31 and ELB33.

Pink and Orange Tag

Hi guys,

So a brand new challenge topic is up over on the Paperartsy blog - the first one for 2017. The topic is pink and orange, and if you want to see all the challenge info please click HERE

I had a play to join in using some of the brand new Tracy Scott stamps (ETS06) that I got the other day.

I blended lots of shades of pink and orange onto a size 10 tag. I used Leandra's scrubby brush technique to blend them and add layers. I used pink peony archival ink to stamp one of the large flower heads all over the background.

I stamped and cut out the various layers of the flower onto painted card and used foam pads to give it some dimension. The photos aren't great as it's dark so these have been taken under artificial lighting.

The 'dream' down the left hand side is from one of Lin Brown's stamp sets (ELB30) from last year.

I added some book page along the bottom, which has been stamped using one of Tracy's other stamp sets (ETS01) released last year. Then added flicks of gold paint and and gold border to the tag.

Don't forget to visit the Paperartsy blog to see all their new releases for 2017 and to see all the fabulous projects for this new topic!

Thanks for looking,

Claire x

Happiness on a journal page....

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing a journal page in my small Dylusions journal made using some of the new Elenazinski stamps by Paperartsy.

Paperartsy have tons of fab new products out at the moment and are sharing videos and periscopes etc demonstrating different ways to use them. I have used quite a few of the different techniques they have shared over the last week to create these pages....

The background was done using Leandra's scrubby painting technique. I used loads of different colours and created lots of layers to build up the depth. I used Chalk paint and a new Lin Brown stencil on the background and some of the smaller stamp elements too before knocking the brightness back how Lin showed on her recent periscope using a baby wipe and Pumpin Soup paint.

For the flowers I finger painted a piece of heavy paper in shades of purple, red and a bit of yellow and flicked gold paint on - as seen on Tracy Scott's release blog post. Then I stamped and cut out the various flowers from Elenazinski sets ZA06 and ZA07.

I stamped some of the other more 'grassy/leafy' elements directly onto the page in green ink before adding the Oscar Wilde quote.

A bit of shading around the flowers with a charcoal pencil and some distress crayon around the edges of the pages and it is done!

A fun page using some different techniques to what I would usually do, love how vibrant it's turned out :-)

Thanks for looking,
